Matching numbers BSA B31 first registered 12 8.55. I bought this bike already dismantled in 1983. It is largely complete and still in the remains of the original maroon stove enamel. The engine turns freely. The frame appears to be straight and has little, if any, of the usual kerb damage underneath
The '55 is an ideal starting point for a Gold Star replica as it shares many of the same cycle parts, unlike the later models. It would also be a good basis for a Tribsa

This is my 1955 Matchless G3LS.
The bike is in honest and fairly original I??d say condition. There is loads of patina, rough paint and surface corrosion but underneath it??s a solid bike that??s an easy starter and it runs sweet.
I bought it a few years ago and have just found myself not using it as much I imagined I might due to other hobbies and interests.
I have replaced the very worn out Amal carburettor that was on it with a less period correct however much far better ... more

1955 Matchless G3L 350cc. Mileage is 64, 598. Historic vehicle so no mot or road tax required. Has recent mot as I retained the original registration. Replaced with non transferable age related plate. Great runner. Starts first or second kick as long as you can kick it over! A Great opportunity to own a very usable classic British bike. 1955 Speed Twin. This bike is in nice used condition , its not concourse and has marks in the paint etc It's had a top end freshen up with new pistons and rings etc , also a new morgo oil pump has been fitted which was all done by myself shortly after I purchased it. My late father purchased this beautiful bike in 2016 from Classic Motorcycles Limited in Cheshire
It has matching numbers and is a lovely bike
Since purchasing he stored it in his garage and would just bring onto the lawn to look at. It never went on the road during this time and still has the original purchase label attached from that date
The last MOT was carried out in 2012 so will need to be trailered away prior to the purchaser getting it MOTd for road use
