For sale is a 1952 Matchless G9 500cc twin. I bought this bike only a fortnight ago but I have quickly come to realise that once running it will be just too big and heavy for my aging joints. (Perhaps I should have bought a Bantam). From my limited time with it here are some points of note
I have not attempted to start the engine but it turns and seems to have compression The chrome on the wheels is remarkbly goodIt is fundamentally complete

Been in my family for over 40 years. Starts 1st kick, runs superbly, handles great and tons of fun. Totally unique. Recently serviced by a master mechanic who specialises in British bikes. Lots of receipts. New tyres, brakes and a few spares as well. Yours to enjoy !

This very lovely 1953 350cc AJS Model 16MCS was manufactured by the factory in September 1952 and retains its original frame, engine, gearbox and magneto. These bikes were made for the sporting enthusiast who would ride their bike to work during the week and then to a local Scramble at the weekend where they would take part in the races and then ride home again. There??s quite a story behind this bike, Mike the previousowner bought it in 1976 for £110 with the intention of restoring it when he retired
41 years later after a painstaking no expense spared project therestoration was complete, he had kept detailed records and receipts for thework which totalled £5755 and the bike looked amazing
Sadly when he started the engine he found that it ran badlyand had a massive oil leak from the crankcase joint and would need a completestrip and rebuild ... more
